Due to the impact of the epidemic coronavirus, the formality of the holy Hajj has started this year on a limited scale.
Only one thousand devout Muslims can take part in this Hajj. Of the 10,000 registered pilgrims, 1,000 were selected and all of them have been placed in residential quarantine since July 25. It is here that the pilgrims have completed the initial preparation of Hajj including physical fitness.
After nearly 90 long years, Saudi Arabia is no longer able to participate in the Hajj outside of Arabia. Only those residing in Saudi Arabia can take part.
About 20 to 25 lakh devotees from all over the world take part in Hajj every time. But it is being observed on a limited scale considering the Corona epidemic situation. Strict hygiene rules have been imposed. Hajj pilgrims will not be able to kiss or touch the Kaaba and the black stone (Hajre Aswad) this time. You have to wear a mask all the time except Arafat's Maidan.
Today, the pilgrims will perform five prayers in 8 Zilhaj Mina of Saudi Arabia. Arafat will leave for Muzdalifah on Thursday after spending the day in Maidan. Will spend the night there. Then perform Maghrib and Esha prayers together.
The next day, on Friday, 10 Zilhaj will throw stones at the devil in Jamara. For this, you have to use sterile packaged stones in advance (Saudi authorities will supply these stones). So this time there is no need to collect stones by throwing the devil from Muzdalifah.
Thus, for two more days in a row, the devil must be stoned. Then you have to shave your head and make a sacrifice. Apart from this, all the pilgrims will have to stay in a specific accommodation in Mina till the end of the ongoing Hajj activities after the first day of Kankar.
Earlier, an order from Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Religious Affairs said 20 people from each group would take part in the Hajj in Mina, Arafat, Muzdalifah and Jamara. 20 people will also be in the group while traveling from one place to another. Even after the start of Hajj activities, if anyone has signs or symptoms of diabetes, high blood pressure, kidney and asthma, he will not be able to take part in Hajj.
The Saudi government is bearing all the expenses of the Hajj pilgrims this time. This time on the second day of Hajj, the sermon of Arafat Maidan will be translated into 10 languages including Bengali.
